This category is open to all young technicians if you have no more than 3 years experience (including training).
The repair and maintenance competitions have both a written entry and live element to them.
At both regional and national stages the competitions test performance in a selection of
tasks drawn from the automobile technician's work role.
Thus the technician is expected to diagnose, service and repair:
Steering and suspension
Engines
Transmission systems
Braking systems
Electrical systems
The national Light Vehicle finalist will have the opportunity to enter the selection
competition to go forward for the UK Team going to the WorldSkills Competition in London, 2011.
The 2009/10 competition is open to all young panel technicians born on or after 1 January 1989.

the regional heats and then live National final, which will take place in June 2010 at Thatcham.
The finalist of the National competition will have the opportunity to enter the selection
competition to go forward for the UK Team going to the WorldSkills Competition in London, 2011.

This category is open to all young painters born on or after 1 January 1989.
